Next Project

I am making a pair of matching baby books for my cousin and her mom (my aunt). One for the new mommy and one for the new grandmommy. I am calling them "Answered Prayers". This project will be truly a labor of love.

Making the Zoo Paper Bag Mini Scrapbook

The Zoo mini is complete! It was such a fun project. I will still add things here and there as I am rarely satisfied with my "completed" projects but for all practical purposes, it's finished. It seems like I never have enough time on the videos to go into great detail about many of the techniques I use. I try to give you the information you need or want, but I do not want to dwell on trivial details that tend to be boring. I hope I give you something in the middle.

I am posting a pictorial step-by-step of the zoo letters made out of pictures. I used a 3 x 3 post it note for the pattern. Many of you can just look at the finished product and figure it out but it's always nice to see how someone puts something together. For me, it gives me ideas of how I can do it differently to fit my particular project or it gives me a springboard for another idea. I am also including some pictures of some of the pages, inserts and digital elements that I used in this album. Please feel free to use any ideas I have, just give me credit when you share it as I try to do when I use ideas of yours.

The clear stamps are KAISER Scrapbook Seals. The alphabet stickers are Kurio Circle Alphabet Dome Stickers. I used mostly digital scrapbook elements in this scrapbook. I have a subscription to Digital Scrapbook Experts (DSE), I get a monthly download of a new digital scrapbook collection. They are quite reasonable and great for late night scrapbook projects when you need something but can't run to the scrapbook store. I used a collection called "Everyday Moments" for all of the journaling circles and most of the other informational type elements. I print them, cut them out and run them through my Xyron Sticker Maker to turn them into easy elements. I love Glossy Accents by Ranger and use it on top of anything I want to standout from the page such as the tiny pictures on the tabs and any logos or graphics. I print a lot of my journal thoughts out, tear around them and then ink the edges. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in "tea dye" for this album. I also used the Tim Holtz idea-ology muse tokens on the cover and Martha Stuart ribbon. The beads on the cover are just plastic pony beads, tied with a slip-knot and then secured with Glossy Accents.

The papers in this album are from the Simply Delightful collection by My Minds Eye. I used my 1" and 1 1/2" circle punches for all of the round elements. Hopefully I have shared enough that you are able to get the general idea anyway. Thank you for taking the time to view my YouTube video as well as this blog. When life gives you scraps, make something beautiful out of them! Lead a scrapbooking life. See you soon! Leda : )
